A long time without posting here. I had an intense time, preparing "Caffeine" for Festivals, working as an animation assistant, cleanup artist, and inbetweener for a feature animated film in Berlin, also doing some editorial Illustrations, changing flat, and a lot more!

But I'm still alive. And I'm posting soon new stuff and updating my website.

Meanwhile, a picture of a Caffeine man miniature made by Yuki Kojima...

2nd Anča Music Video Award

Last week, Patricia Luna and I went to Fest anca 2011, International Animation Festival in Zilina, Slovakia. "Caffeine" won the 2nd Prize for the Anca Music Video Award. We are extremely happy!

Caffeine at Vereinszimmer

I did this illustration for the fanzine Inbox (12) "A fanzine where you receive 12 postcards drawn and written by 12 illustrators about their favourite city spots". I chose this spot, the italian café where i'm going almost every day, and I turned it into "Caffeine" (next music video from Brandt Brauer Frick) style.

The Brandt Brauer Frick album "You Make Me Real" will be available on CD and double vinyl in a couple of days . I did the artwork and the prints look very beautiful. Here are some photos of the vinyl pack. Thanks to Harry Weber for the nice pics! Besides I will soon post photos of the CD pack and the original illustrations on my website.

I'm also working on the animated video for the album piece "Caffeine", more about it soon.

The exhibition shows eight artists, whose illustrations already found a broad echo in the public. In Sommerland their various influences will be confronted to each other. The spectrum reaches pencil drawing, Comic and advertising illustration. Despite of their differences a dialog will be open with a central theme: a summer whisper.

And last week there was another opening (same day, same time) with some of my works at the Centro de exposiciones y artes of Avilés (Asturias). The exhibition "Girl-made. Patrones intimistas" is curated by Eneka Fernández with artists Patricia Luna, Rosa Navarro, Katherine Fiedler, , Las taradas, Carla Tramullas, Anna Arcas and me. The exhibition is running till the 31st of Dezember.

ANONYME ZEICHNER Nº10

Last week the opening of the exhibition Anonyme Zeichner Nr 10 (Anonymous drawings Nº10) took place at Kunstraum / Bethanien (Berlin). A drawing of mine was hanging on one of the walls within 700 works from international artists, all anonymously presented until you buy the piece.

"A selection of about 700 drawings by international artists will be presented anonymously.

The general exhibition preparation starts with an international call to participate on the Internet. No demands are being made; age, biography or heritage of the originator do not play any role for the selection.

The artist's anonymity can be lifted by means of purchasing a drawing for the symbolic unit salesprice of 150 EUR. The buyer can take his drawing right off the wall and s/he is then told the name of its author. The empty space the drawing leaves behind will be marked with the artist‘s full name.

The given unit salesprice should not be seen as a real market price, but as a placeholder for any conceivable amount of money. Because the works are from both established artists and laymen, it is expected from the viewer to draw his own line between art and not-art. Common, art specific mechanisms like the importance of an artists` ego, price formation or prepared qualities which can be refered to a specific art context, should be reversed in this exhibition in an experimental way: the artists engage themselves to put their own person into the background for the benefit of the actual product, their artistic work."

The exhibition is still open till the 17th of january.

I did these illustrations for a documentary film project for/with my friends Po Yen Chang, Roser Corella and Santiago Latorre. The area of work is airports and aviation. The project is for a sort of competition so we really hope that we will be selected... we'll see what happens.

This is the next work of my portrait series. I haven't explained yet the concept of the project: the portraited person tells me how he wants to be portraited. It can be anything, but sometimes i have to discuss about that with the portraited person, until we both agree.... Jost wanted to be a rock in the sea or Godzilla. I preferred the romantic idea of the rock and the sea, and i think it fits very well to Jost.

This version is unfortunately censured by Apple, so you won't be able to see the love image :-)

That means, this version has just 12 pictures instead of 13.

The following images were some attempts to get the "porno" picture published, but apple didn't even accept that...

The not censured printed version will be very soon out.

I got a comission from the spanish-catalan musician Marc Parrot to do some animations for the song "Superheroi" (Superhero), performed on his live acts. The idea was at the beginning a little unclear, and I started with rather figurative sketches. Although he liked them, he finally wanted me to do kind of abstract interference animations, to fit better into his show. This is one of my first attempts...

Unfortunatelly I do not have the permission yet to show the final work.
